Fonds consists of correspondence, sketches, exhibition notices and posters, press clippings, photographs, financial records, and artefacts relating to Iain Baxter’s career as an artist and university instructor. It includes records of the N.E. Thing Company, the Eye Scream Restaurant, and later solo work by Baxter. Also included are records of Baxter’s employment by Labatt’s Canada as Creative Consultant, and of his collaborations with Louise Chance Baxter.

Carbon copies of letters written by the Zacks and letters written to them are included. The fonds also contains the administrative files kept by the Zacks: insurance lists, index cards for art and books, photographs and catalogues. The fonds includes the records of the Zacks’ involvement as board members in a variety of organizations relating to the arts, including agendas, memos, minutes of meetings, and travel arrangements. Correspondence files document the Zacks’ involvement in the State of Israel, through its cultural institutions, and communication with prominent citizens. Mrs. Zacks’ papers created after her husband’s death relate to her honourary degree, the Order of Canada, board activities and social involvement. Fonds consists of the administrative files created by the Mercer Union gallery during the first twenty years of its existence, including photographs and slides, material printed for the gallery (catalogues, posters, invitations etc.), newspaper reviews, and a small number of video tapes, audio tapes and computer disks. Files remain in the order they were received; errors in filing have not been corrected. Fonds consists of correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, lecture notes, newsletters, cards and party invitations, exhibition catalogues, reproductions of art works, passport, certificates, and photographs relating to L.A.C. Panton’s personal and professional life. The photographs range from portraits of his family in England to scenes that provided the basis of paintings, particularly the Nova Scotia coastline. Correspondence relates to his involvement in art societies and his community in North Toronto but does not include his family life. Letters were received from several members of the Group of Seven, Florence Wyle, Arthur Heming, Fred Brigden, G.A. Reid and many others. Clipping files relate both to his professional life and his interest in economics and current events. The fonds arrived at the archives in no discernible order; order has been imposed by the archivist to correspond as much as possible to a file listing found in the fonds. Fonds consists of the personal and professional records of Greg Curnoe. It includes such textual documentation as writing files; correspondence; project files including grant applications, records of the National Gallery retrospective exhibition, and Curnoe’s published writings; notebooks and journals kept by the artist, including his cycling journals; and a number of bookworks. Visual material includes numerous sketchbooks and works on paper as well as extensive photographic documentation of Curnoe’s studio, social and professional activities, exhibitions, family life, and art work. Fonds consists of nine notebooks kept by Kathleen Munn as a student at the Art Student’s League in New York City and at the Summer program in Woodstock, NY. The books contain a meticulous record of her exposure to ideas about artistic theory, philosophy and art history. Undated drawings, prints and unbound notes are also included, and a group of ‘arts-and-crafts’ inspired decorative designs. The fonds contains more than 1800 pencil drawings executed as studies for her mature work on the subject of the Christian Passion. Photographs of eight of these completed drawings are included. Fonds consists of personal and professional records created by Gilbert and Stewart Bagnani and their families, chiefly in Europe, North Africa, and Canada, for the most part between ca. 1910 and 1955, comprising photographs of Gilbert Bagnani's travels and archaeological work in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Libya and Egypt in the 1920s and 1930s; a motion picture of his activities in and around Tebtunis in Egypt in 1934; correspondence between the Bagnanis themselves, Gilbert Bagnani's mother Florence Bagnani and other family members; photos of the families of Gilbert and Stewart Bagnani, including 19th-century photo portraits of their Dewar, Houston, and Robinson relatives; a collection of copy prints and glass slides of art and antiquities used by Dr. Bagnani in his university teaching; audio recordings of Dr. Bagnani lecturing; albums of clippings and memorabilia of family and social events; miscellaneous printed, typescript and manuscript items; photos of the Bagnanis at Trent University in the 1980s; an album of postage stamps; and other material.

Fonds consists of drawings, watercolours and designs of A. H. Howard produced in Toronto between 1880 and 1914, especially in the sketchbooks in which Howard drew Ontario landscapes and towns, flowers, trees, human figures, factory interiors and other subjects. Similar drawings and watercolours are contained in two albums and a portfolio. Also included are examples of his decorative and calligraphic work from illuminated presentation addresses, certificates, bookplates and other materials.

Fonds consists of the contents of an autograph album, primarily consisting of letters received by Goldwin Smith from various correspondents throughout North America and Europe. The fonds also includes a few intact pages of the album with autographs.

Collection consists of correspondence between Avis Lang Rosenberg and Jack Chambers over a three-year period, slides created for the proposed book, transcriptions of taped interviews, contents of a notebook, poetry and prose written by Chambers, research notes, Lang’s writings on Chambers, exhibition catalogues and a private press publication containing illustrations by Chambers. Fonds consists chiefly of correspondence received by Harold Murchison Tovell, Ruth Massey Tovell and Vincent Tovell, most notably from their friends the French artist Jacques Villon and his wife Gaby from 1928 to 1962. Other correspondence concerns the lending and donation of family artworks. Also included are catalogues for exhibitions of the works of Jacques Villon and his brother Raymond Duchamp-Villon as well as inventories and photographs of Tovell family artworks and furnishings. Fonds consists of a notebook commenced by Anna Belle Wing Kindlund in 1895, in which she recorded information on works of art and architectural monuments (chiefly European), with thumbnail-sized albumen prints of many of the items and occasional ink sketches. The notebook has alphabetical index tabs, and its entries are alphabetical according to city. The inscription on the frontispiece reads “Anna Belle Wing – B.S. ‘95”. The fonds is arranged in a single series.
